hi aleks, good to see you back. i loved your takeaway moment. mine are similar. when i gave birth it was amazing and so powerful. i lay awake that night, buzzing on endorphins. i felt like a superwoman, who had joined a club with every other woman who had given birth naturally, without drugs, without incision, right back to cave days and when they would drop them under a tree in the field. it was so primal.

and just before people jump on me for being smug about no caesarian, no inducement, no drugs, i am aware there are different labours and i was just lucky to have a perfect one. yes, there are ideals and i got the ideal birth. it was fucking amazing, like a real rite of passage

Aleks, I STILL haven't read any Kurt Vonnegut, but will get around to it shortly. I did read a review recently of his latest offering, and had to laugh at his musing that he might sue the cigarette companies for the fact that he is STILL not dead from cancer. - A ha ha ha!

Some moments for me:

- Saturday mornings, when I wake up next to my georgeous husband and it takes that split second to remember what day it is and as i do, I feel so happy knowing I have 2 full days to spend with him.

- When a child has a big achievement at school, for example, they have a breakthrough moment when everything kinda clicks into place and they start writing and reading on their own. The look on their faces, its incredible. They are so happy, so proud. I get to share in that happiness, so pure and innocent and it brings purpose to my life.

-Judging by your blog alone, you seem like a good person, who thinks, has high morals and takes action. You can still change if you want to. I'm sure all of us could be/ could have been different. I think people have free will, but it is easy to just go with the flow too.

-I was thinking about meaningless consumerism yesterday when doing my Christmas shopping yesterday. I don't really want or need more stuff. I think I'd prefer to work less, spend less and spend more time doing stuff I love. (That said, I'm at work as I write this!).

-In terms of feeling alive, lately its been during sex.

1) When I started standing up for myself. Jimmy Barnes said it "It may be hard, but oh, oh it's the only way. You got to stand your ground and fight to save your life."

2) Getting a name for anxiety and finding ways to work with it, work on it.

3) Sitting and talking with my partner on the couch.

4) Music. Lots of music.
